Open the bearing code popup or the full catalog page before comparing an old bearing with a Stanley reference.
The catalog lists tolerance class codes including /P0, /P6, /P6X, /P5, /P4, /P2, /SP and /UP. These codes must be preserved when the operating position requires precision.
Clearance groups include /C1, /C2, basic group 0, /C3, /C4, /C5, /CN and /C9. Catalog notes warn that combined tolerance and clearance codes may be written together.
Fits and materials
The catalog includes material suffixes and fit tables because a dimensionally similar bearing may still fail if material, clearance, tolerance or fit is wrong for the rolling mill condition.
